2 MINUTE NOODLES "DHOKLAFIED" WITH 3 MOUs SIGNED BETWEEN INDIA AND CHINA

From the advent of the 2-min noodles era in India, the "Hindi-Cheeni bhai-bhai" adage made its entry into the Indian psyche the 'ajinomotto' way; like being tasteless yet registering to the taste buds! No wonder China has been to Indian consciousness like bone-china-ware; aspirational with a handle-with-care tag!

But now there is a pinch of "achche din" seasoning to this Sino-Indian relationship. With President Xi Jingping visiting India on a 3-day official tour, things are looking up for sure. What's more the noodle-doodles this time are "dhoklafied" and "fafdafied" it seems! This is because the Chinese President signed as many as 3 MOUs with just the one and only Gujarat!

Last week, 3 MOUs were signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chinese President Xi Jingping. The first one was signed between the China Development Bank and The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation to set up an industrial park in Gujarat.

Ha ha! Did we see Chinese collars straightening up Indian sleeves? Wait a moment.. there was this second agreement to provide health facilities and educational infrastructure in Gujarat. It was signed formally between the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the Chinese Health Department.

You can now juxtapose that ad saying Chinese cfls are poisonous with this particular health provision paper! The cfls and Chinese lanterns and of course Chinese fast food may be at the focal point of the intelligentsia ire. But the fact remains that even today a short-cut way to titillating your taste buds is Chinese and a boon to your pocket and purse is definitely about resorting to Chinese electronic goods!

And not to forget in this din of intelligentsia debate, the third MOU which was signed between the Chinese Guandong province and the Gujarat government, in the presence of Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, again to boost business ties. So, next time you want to forward those floating smses about Chinese crackers and lamps destroying Indian industries, think twice. Perhaps there is more positivity than just about Brahmaputra encroachments in the Sino-Indian wave of renewed allegiance!
